Welcome to my Learning Journey!

My name is Bridget and after years of being an ‘idea’ person, I’m finally taking action.

I considered school a hassle and opted out of college. If I didn’t know what I wanted to do I wasn’t paying to find out. I’d spend the next decade working in kitchens, and the last couple years walking dogs in my free time. I was running low on happiness after years of stress and seeing no end to it, something needed to change. I knew I didn’t want to work in kitchens anymore and I was lucky enough to be dating a computer science wiz who pushed me to do better. He suggested I learn graphic design or web development. So on and off for a year I’d try to learn when I felt like it, attempting tutorials and bugging him with a million questions. Ultimately I dropped the graphic design idea and started truly pursuing web development.

It wasn’t until May of 2023 that I really started to push myself and now, almost a year later, I hardly have to ask for help on the basics. I could say I wish I knew more after that much time, but the fact that I even got to this point is a huge win for me. I know now that I can push myself to learn new things and have something to feel proud about when I get it!

This website was gifted to me by my boyfriend so I could really practice, plus he knows my love for pizza. I hope to put the hurricane of ideas flying around my head into one place. For now, that place is here, as a writer, photographer, traveler, artist and now a web developer. Enjoy!

Check out my Latest Travels!

Ever since I was a kid I have loved car rides. I often would go on drives with my Grandma, where we would go to the neighborhoods with huge houses and chit-chat about all the things we liked. She passed a few years ago, but I'll never forget those times- I loved and miss them dearly.

I am lucky enough to have a boyfriend who loves taking the long way when we go almost anywhere. "I don't need to look at more regular trees, that's boring." That's what he always says and I can't disagree. Sure there are some areas where the freeway is an exciting place to see new landscapes, but not near us. It's also a plus that taking the back roads often only adds 10-20 minutes of driving. Those few minutes are worth it when there are so many interesting things to see. We enjoy the opportunities of passing somewhere cool and being able to easily stop and explore.

We moved to a fairly boring area and managed to see all the "major sites" in less than a year (you could see everything you'd want to see in a week in this place). So, we spend almost every weekend driving 2+ hours away to find some good hikes or things to do. Luckily, we have been able to find some pretty awesome places and I'm excited to share some of them with you!

Plant Life

I became a plant mom a couple years ago and my love keeps on growing! I have around 20 plants right now, but I dream of the day all my windows are filled with life and my future empty yard is begging for a garden.

For now, I am happy to keep what I have alive and thriving, even with the lack of good sunlight in my home.
